Everyday we see more and more rampant disregard for morals and values that were held by our parents and grandparents. The signs are everywhere: rampant sexual deviancy, promiscuity, open homosexuality with no condemnation, incurable diseases unchecked, a separation of \u201cgodly influence\u201d in the governmental proceedings\u00a0 ,illegal immigrants moving in \u2013 refusing to learn our language &#8211; and sacking our capital\u2026oh wait that was Rome during it\u2019s final days, not America. And guess what, humanity survived \u2013 yes it was later described as \u201cdark\u201d times \u2013 and to be fair it was, mostly due to a lack of scientific knowledge and suppression of human rights. However, we can learn from our past. Instead of condemnation and a call for a return to the non-existent 1950\u2019s idyllic era, we can choose to embrace fewer restrictions on non-traditional groups, more rationality, less rhetoric, more tolerance and peace towards our fellow man. Maybe I live in an idealist world, but we\u2019ll never know unless we strive for progress and not regression.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s not the best of times, so it must be the worst of times.
